Attached is a picture that the manager implied is normal for a shoe that's been worn for such an absurdly short period of time.
Good
Buying defective shoes is not why I am upset at this store. A defective product is bound to sneak it's way past inspection during mass production. But that the smug manager treated me so dismissively and rudely was absolutely unacceptable. That she would outright say that a pair of shoes are not expected to last a summer, let alone seven days is frankly bullshit and shows either a willingness to lie to customers who annoy her or a staggering amount of incompetence. I will never be returning to this store.
Big selection to choose from
I come here to get shoes and I mostly see this one worker named Barb. I think. She is very helpful especially when the kids are always saying they want to buy things she always helps in coupons situations and give us good deals. She is the one I see you actually does that every time we come. Although when we look for bigger sizes they never have it Barb's amazing extra hard work tops it off.
Sperry, however, had excellent customer service and offered to pay for the return shipping and replace my shoes at no cost.
Terrible experience. My wife bought me a pair of Sperry Topsiders from here in December (three months ago) for a christmas present for our cruise. We went on the seven day cruise in January and that's the only time I've ever worn these shoes. Seven days. The soles are pretty torn up and clearly wont last much longer before the shoes are unserviceable. I took them to the store today to show them the issue, the manager talked to me and there seemed to be some confusion. She seemed to think we had purchased the shoes LAST December because I was describing wearing them on the boat, she thought I met I wore them last summer and insisted that we probably bought them two christmas ago. Miscommunication aside, I finally flat out said "I just don't think it's right that these shoes didn't last seven days, is that normal?" to which she replied "Yes, that's normal." and made it clear she wouldn't help me. She was also very rude and dismissive, as if she was irritated at me for having an issue with my defective shoe. I was encouraged to buy a $20 set of inserts that felt odd and uncomfortable. I declined. On the way home I called sperry customer service and informed them of the situation. They told me that their shoes should always last at the very least one year and that I clearly received a defective pair. They also told me that they have received many complaints about this particular store and that this store has a reputation of being difficult when customers try to return defective products.
Very helpful staff, generally quick service. Don't always have sizes in Stock but will find it for you somehow!
